Introduction

Hello Class,
My name is Niki Poole, I've been a resident in petaluma my whole life. After this year it will be my third year at the JC. I take classes at both, the Santa Rosa and Petaluma campus. I'm not sure about my major yet, but it will probably have to do with sports or kids, becasue that is what I enjoy. My first two years at the JC I played for the women's soccer team. My second year playing for them we made it all the way to the championship game and lost in double over time, it was insane! I actually got All-American that year, which I am very proud of. Earlier last semester I was the assistant coach for the girls at the JC, that was an awesome experience. As you can tell soccer is my life!!
I'm working on getting my GE done so I can transfer after summer, so I can play soccer again, and move on to a four year college. I have taken English 100 before but not online so I'm going to try my hardest to stay focused and on top of it, because I really need this class to transfer. Since English is not a very strong subject for me, I would like to come out of this class with better writing skills and have more confidence in my own writing. Good Luck and I cant wait to read everybody's blogs!

  1. Hi Niki,

Wow! That must have been a wonderful experience for you and your teammates! At my last college, we only had intramural teams; at SRJC, I'm learning how important athletic programs are to student athletes and the community.

What schools are you hoping to attend?

    Lauren :)

  2. Soccer is a great sport I have not played in years. Sports are a great way to keep you going in your school efforts. It sounds like you are on the right path. Good Luck.

  3. Hi Niki,

To be so close to a win and lose in double overtime must have been hard. I am glad you will be able to get back on the field as your talent is needed on the field. I coach soccer and the most frustrating time on the sidelines watching is not being able to go in and play when the team needs a little help.

Good luck in this class so you can move forward.

  5. That sounds like that was a great expierience. Just from what I read, I definitely suggest going with sports for your career goal. You seem to be very passionate about soccer. That would be very fun. There would probably be lots of traveling with that. I would go insane. I like to be settled down. But it would be nice to, in a sense, take vacations like that. Good luck with which ever you choose to chase (:
